Déagol is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth.

He was first introduced in The Fellowship of the Ring as a Stoor Hobbit who became the third bearer of the One Ring, after Sauron and Isildur. He found the Ring while diving in the Gladden river (a tributary to the Anduin) with his relative[1] Sméagol (later known as Gollum) who demanded the ring and murdered him when he refused to give it up.

Déagol is an Old English translation of the "original" Westron name Nahald. Both names carry the meaning "apt to hide, secretive".

In Peter Jackson's movie adaptation of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Déagol is played by New Zealand actor Thomas Robins.
