Czech paralympic team

Czech paralympic team can we define like all sportsmen and their support, who represent or represented Czech republic on Deaflympic or Paralympic games. But its also a team of many people, who have to coordinate security, preparation and realization of all paralympics.
A mascot of Czech paralympic team is a birdie Emil.
Very important is Czech paralympic committee (CPC). A main function of this committee is to develop ideas of paralympism in Czech republic and take a share on locking preparation of sportsmen on the top world competitions. CPC have to supply stately representation of Czech republic on summer or winter Paralympic games.

Last paralympic games were situated in Torino. Czech republic had on these games 5 sportsmen.
- Stanislav Loska - amputation of upper limb
- Michal Nevrkla - above-knee amputation
- Jan Dostál - above-knee amputation
- Radim Kozlovský - paraplegic
- Anna Kulíšková - vision-impaired
In initiation of these paralympic games was our flag bearer Anna Kulíšková.
All five sportsmen represented Czech republic in Alpine skiing. Opening event didn´t work out. It was downhill. Anna Kulíšková didn´t finish the competition. She backslid (fell down???) and ended in safety net. Almost in the same place had the collision her team colleague Michal Nevrkla. He got his fall under control and he finished the competition on 39. place. In the same competition arrived Jan Dostál on 37. place. Stanislav Loska and Radim Kozlovský didn´t get in this competition.
Paralympic downhill took place on the ski slope Borgata. This ski slope belongs to the most dread ski slopes abroad not disabled sportsmen too. Maybe was this distance too hard for handicap sportsmen.
Two days later went on super G. In this event won Anna Kulíšková silver medal. It was her first medal in her 4 years long competitive career. Our competitress was defeated only by Sabine Gasteiger from Austria. Super G entered Radim Kozlovský too and he finished on the 26. place.
In giant slalom wasn´t czech men so successful like Anna Kulíšková. Stanislav Loska started very well 1. round and from the 11. place he wanted attack on places in first decade. He went very risky in the second round, he had a collision and he finished on the 16. place. Michal Nevrkla and Jan Dostál shared this competition too and they arrived on the 33. and 36. place.
Next day went giant slalom Anna Kulíšková. She wanted to repeat her silver success from super G. She went first round too slow and carefully and finally it was only the 4. place. His life competition ran a dollyman Radim Kozlovský. 13. place in giant slalom is for him a big success.
The last discipline in Torino was the special slalom. Czech men wasn´t successful and they didn´t get not even first decade. Jan Dostál arrived on the 30. place, Michal Nevrkla on the 26. place and the best score had Stanislav Loska - 18. place. Stanislav Loska has in slalom the bronze medal from Lillehammer 1994. But now are all men with amputation united in one category and it's larger competitive conduct.
The most successful czech paralympic skier is Kateřina Teplá. But she didn´t start in Torino. Kateřina is vision-impaired and she belongs to kategory B3, because she is "only" shortsighted. Today is she sovereign the best czech skier. She has 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal from Nagano 1998, 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal from Salt Lake City. In 2002 she was renowned as The best czech handicap sports-woman.

[edit] Summer paralympic games Athens 2004
The XII. Summer paralympic games were situated in Athens. In total represented Czech republic 65 sportsmen. Like the flag bearer led Czech team Roman Musil - the most successful czech paralympionic in Sydney.
The first czech medal fought a cyclist Jiří Bouška. It was the bronze medal in 1 km with start from rest. Jiří made a new world record for division 4, but after conversion of coefficients was it only the 3. place. Gold medal won the British competitor Darren Kenny from division 3. Jiří Bouška set in the bronze medal too. It was a pursuit event on 3 kilometers. Right behind him ended Luboš Jirka.
Our next cyclist Jiří Ježek won silver medal in a pursuit event. He espoused gold medal from Sydney. Jiří has a below knee amputation. In a final in category LC2 was no match for Robert Alcaide from Spain. Jiří competed in combination too and won the gold medal.
Historically the first gold medal in time competition got for Czech republic handy-cyclist Marcel Pipek. In his opinion he trained very hard. Best helped him a preparation with his friend in Jeseníky.
Czech swimmers were very successful too. A swimmer Martin Kovář won in the competition 100 meters free style a gold medal. It was a new world record. He overcame his 3 months old record over 2 seconds. Now he confirmed his absolute sovereignty in his category S3. Martin was the best in 200 meters free style and he made again a world record. Though he swam in an inconvenient 8. lane, he got the gold medal.
In category S1 won the bronze medal in 100 meters crawl Jiří Kadeřávek. This swimmer attend to play rugby.
Less then a half year after the childbirth won her gold medal a female swimmer Běla Hlaváčková It was a competition 50 meters backstroke. Behind her ended her biggest competitress Beatrice Hess from France. This competition shared Kateřina Lišková too, but she got only the 4. place.
Czech female swimmer Kateřina Coufalová won next gold medal for czech tour. It was competition 100 meters breast stroke in category SB9. It is for competitors with amputated arm. After her triumph in Atlanta is it her second gold medal in her career.
Next event in Athens was athletics. Czech discus-thrower Veronika Foltová added the next gold medal. She won in a new paralympic record 23,47 meters. In a discus throw won the gold medal Martina Kniezková too. She created a new world record in category F51 and she stated her triumph from Sydney.
Czech discus-thrower František Pürgl won primarily only the 4. place, but finally he got the bronze medal. The handicap of the winner Mochtar from Iran was reconsiderated and he was moved up in other category. František Pürgl progressed for 1 place and he was very happy. Athens were his last Paralympic games.
