Czech Defense

The Czech Defense is an offbeat chess opening that begins 1.e4 d6 2.d4 Nf6 3.Nc3 c6. It was originated in the early 1990s. Black often follows up with ...Qa5 and later ...e5 to challenge White's center. Black also sometimes expands on the queenside with ...b5. It is also possible to transpose to the Pirc Defense by playing ...g6.
