From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cyril Neville (born in New Orleans, Louisiana, October 10, 1948), was a founder of the funky New Orleans-based rhythm band, The Meters, which eventually became the prestigious Neville Brothers band. Cyril Neville played percussion, sang, and co-fronted the band with his older brother Art Neville. He later left the band to follow his own musical pursuits. As of September 2006 Cyril Neville was to appear at the 2006 San Francisco Blues Festival [1], featured in the Louisiana Voice of the Wetlands All Stars.

An article by Neville appeared in the December 16, 2005 edition of CounterPunch, [2], titled "Why I'm Not Going Back To New Orleans."
