Comment This is not a bot. Nor is it the official version of AWB. All edits are human-supervised. The main purpose of this subpage is so that edits using this program can be properly identified in edit summaries rather than being misidentified as the official AWB version.

What checks have been removed?

  • The version check. I don't want to have to continually re-download and re-modify AWB every time a new version is released.
  • The 'checkpage' function. The reason I modified in the first place was that I was removed from the checkpage.

Who has access to this version?

Why aren't you distributing it?

  • I am not obliged to by the GPL - all the GPL requires me to do is to distribute the source code if I choose to distribute binaries.
  • Making this tool available to the general public could result in it being used for vandalism.
  • The changes are minor enough (deleting a few lines of code) that anyone who wants a modified version can easily do it themselves, even if (like me) they aren't a programmer.
