Cynddylan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cynddylan, or Cynddylan ap Cyndrwyn ("Cynddylan son of Cyndrwyn" in Welsh) was a 7th-century King of Pengwern. He was also a king of Dogfeiling, a sub-kingdom of Gwynedd around Rhuthin to the north of Powys, all in Wales.[1]

A 9th-century Welsh poem speaks of him, Marwnad Cynddylan ("The Death Song of Cynddylan"), as well as Canu Heledd ("Heledd's Lament"), Heledd being his sister.
