Cyanotic is a Chicago-based industrial music collective fronted by Sean Payne that formed in 2002 and released its first full-length album in 2005. Cyanotic is known for its genre-blending work, which fuses traditional industrial beats and vocals with drum n bass, sampling and powernoise to create a very hard sound. The band's lyrics contain many tongue-in-cheek references to transhumanism.

[edit] Biography
Cyanotic defines aggressive electronic / industrial rock, melding elements of classic industrial dance, drum 'n' bass, rhythmic noise, IDM and heavy metal to create a unique sonic assault. The band enjoys a rapidly growing fan base, thanks to strong support via word of mouth and relentless touring with the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Andrew W.K., Dismantled, Bile, Nocturne, Stromkern, Acumen Nation, DJ? Acucrack, Cruciform Injection, Defragmentation and many more.
Sean Payne, Drew Rosander and Brian Blake formed Cyanotic in 2002. The band released its EP Mutual Bonding Through Violation in 2003 under its own label, Glitch Mode Recordings, to critical acclaim despite a limited printing of 1200.
Transhuman, was released in mid-2005. It is Cyanotic's first full length album, containing 12 tracks and featuring production by Jason Novak of Acumen Nation / DJ? Acucrack and Chris Cozort of iammynewt. The album became an underground hit thanks to strong word of mouth, positive reviews, relentless touring and a rabid internet fanbase. A deluxe edition Transhuman reissue featuring alternate mixes, bonus tracks and guest appearances from members of Front Line Assembly, 16 Volt and Rabbit Junk is set for release by December 2k6.
Cyanotic has remixed tracks for many prolific artists, including Acumen Nation, 16 Volt and Chemlab. Cyanotic has also worked and appeared on various compilations. A new full length album, tentatively untitled, is also in the works and should see release by mid 2007.
This band should not be confused with the metal/grindcore band Cyanotic, hailing from Vancouver, British Columbia.
