CVN-79 is the hull designation for a proposed United States Navy aircraft carrier of the CVN-21 class. Construction of this ship (if authorized) would not begin before 2010. In theory, CVN-79 would replace either USS Kitty Hawk or USS John F. Kennedy.

In JAG episode 6x14, CVN-79 was designated as USS Benjamin Harrison. Senator James M. Inhofe has stated an intention to name the ship the USS Wilderness, after the first major battle between Grant and Lee.
