Custom Robo Arena (also known as 激闘!カスタムロボ (gekitou kasutamu robo) or Custom Robo Rumble! in Japan) is a science fiction action game for the Nintendo DS. The name was announced on May 9, 2006 at the E3 convention [1], and released in Japan on October 19, 2006. Previous games in the series are Custom Robo and Custom Robo v2 for the N64, Custom Robo: Battle Revolution for the GameCube and Custom Robo GX for the Game Boy Advance.
In the game, the player participates in Custom Robo tournaments and tries to earn money to buy parts to use to improve their robot, and new robot frames. The game features 2-player multiplayer with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection including voice chat, Multi-Card play, and DS Download Play. The DS' unique touch screen is also used to choose parts for the robot as well as clean it up after each battle ends.
In the new diorama mode you can put your robot into a setting and pose/position them any way you like, and then before a WiFi battle your opponent gets shown it. This is a new feature to the series and exclusive to the DS version.
