Curse of Shirley (Courage the Cowardly Dog)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Curse of Shirley is an episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog in season 2. It is focused mainly on Eustace's bad behavior and on whether or not he had any kindness in him.

[edit] Plot

Shirley arrives at the farmhouse, unrecognized by any of the main cast, asking for money or food. Muriel and Courage give her a lot, but Eustace slams the door in her face. Shirley says she has placed a curse on him. A cloud forms above Eustace's head, raining, and the worse he behaves, the worse the storm above him gets. That night, Eustace goes insane, attacking everyone in the farmhouse. Courage goes to Shirley, desperate for help. Shirley tells him that the only way to remove the curse is for Eustace to find kindness in his heart. Since this is obviously a difficult task, she lends Courage a mirror that will help him. He takes it to Eustace, who is now shoving mushrooms into Muriel's mouth. Courage shows Eustace the mirror, but lightning strikes it and it smashes. Eustace sees a child in place of Courage, and out of genuine kindness lends the 'boy' his hat. The cloud fades and the curse is removed. That night, however, Eustace behaves badly again, and the raincloud starts to reform...
