Curd snack

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Curd snack (Latvian: biezpiena sieriņš, Lithuanian: varškės sūrelis, Estonian: kohuke) is a type of sweet snack made from curd, popular in the Baltic states. The snack is rarely seen outside of the Baltic areas, but remains popular within. The snack is also known and produced in Russia, Hungary, Poland and Romania.

Usually curd snacks are made from milled and pressed curd with raisins, jam or other filling sometimes glazed with chocolate or other substance (glazed snacks often have no filling), such as vanilla-, kiwi- or wild strawberry-flavoured cream.

The packaged snack (here branded "Nakts") is usually not much larger than a one-size chocolate baton.
