[edit] Background
I'm from Oregon, and have a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from Portland State University, with a minor in Middle East studies. I work at BPA as a communications engineer, and I read a lot of history books for fun. I married an amazing girl in Jan 2006, and from Jan-Jul 2007 I'll be working in Shanghai.
I've lived in the US, Mexico, Spain, Qatar, and China, spent shorter times in Ecuador and Israel, and completed a six-year enlistment in the US Air Force as a radio technician, gaining the appellation of "veteran" for serving OEF in Afghanistan.
[edit] Edits
My first edit was on 17 June 2005, and since then I've been active on the Bahá'í pages. I also edit a lot of Islamic pages, and I'm trying to standardize the MOS for Arabic transliteration.
As of November 2006 I'm at somewhere close to 7,000 edits. See here.
[edit] Cuñado
Wikipedians have mis-spelled my name as Cunardo, Cuando, Cunada, Cornholio, Cunaldo, and other forms of Cunado. For those of you wondering, cuñado is Spanish for "Brother in law". When I was 14 I lived in Mexico, and everyone thought my sister was hot. Cuñado became my nickname.
You can find me on yahoo messenger as: chinesebryan and my email is the same, but add @yahoo.com to the end.
Definitely check out the following Weird Al video: WHITE AND NERDY
[edit] Lifetime Goals
I once had a few lifetime goals, like to jump out of an airplane, and go to China, but I'd accomplished them all by the age of 22 (the trick is to aim low). I decided on some new goals: I want to hug an Orangutan, visit the Kaaba in Mecca, and adopt a little Chinese girl.
