[edit] Hullo there!

Just seen your comment on the Talk:Plantation of Ulster page. Take it easy, look around, and then let it rip.--Shtove 22:50, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi there

Hi, thanks for (partially) fixing my userbox align problem on my userpage :) - Any additional idea, why these boxes don't really align? Best greetings to Ireland, MikeZ 20:09, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Supporting your opinion

I simply couldn't help but support your opinion in Wikipedia_talk: Jimbo_on_userboxes. Userboxes express what you are, they should be there. For example I couldn't know there was so much in common between what we think unless I saw all those userboxes there on your page. Long live userboxes!! (Ahnaf 11:51, 15 September 2006 (UTC))

[edit] WikiProject South Park

I have thought of creating a WikiProject for South Park since it is now near its' 10th anniversary and has more articles than ever. I feel we could all do the following things through this project:

  • Cleanup any short/poorly written/unformatted articles
  • Merge/lengthen the many character articles
  • Improve the South Park main page

I have seen your South Park fan template and wondered if you were interested in joining. If so reply to my talk page and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks, Mr. Garrison

[edit] Equestrian Link Repair

I am taking part in the Wikipedia Link Repair and links that direct to a disambiguation page need to be diverted to their appropriate article. Since there is no "Equestrian" article, it must be put in one of the four seperate articles listed on the disambiguation page. If you want, you can direct it to a more appropriate article. I believe that linking it to the Equestrianism article was most appropriate as that is what most previous links have linked itself to. If you believe that those two pages you listed should be put in another article, please redirect them yourself. I am only following the standards of the WikiProject, and if you want you can help out as well. Also, please remember to sign your posts so it is easier to contact you. Sorry for any trouble this may have caused, but if you still have any other questions please let me know so these articles can be improved for the better. --Nehrams2020 02:37, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding thumping, and those in need of same...

As far as the George W. Bush quote is concerned, I quoted him because it was a recent comment, and it was appropriate. Even an idiot like "W" is right occasionally, and, just as the president received a well-deserved "thumpin'," there are those on Wikipedia (present company excepted) who are in need of a good thumping. Thanks for your comment. ---Charles 00:51, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks Culnacreann for your kind words (sorry I haven't replied sooner) about the Spruce Meadows page I set up-that means a lot coming from a equestrian event fan such as yourself. You're right though, it's too bad they don't have a better listing of their winners (they do however have a large winner's post listing all past winners at their facility and I hope to complete the list when I go back). Last year's Master's was the first show jumping event I've ever seen live and I definitely plan to see more! SinisterLemon 02:30, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] That was a slam!

You wrote: "You changed: ‘Lepping’ to Lepping Fáilte to Filte and the some of the languages as well - why? I thought you were a good wikipedian. Culnacréann 20:52, 22 November 2006 (UTC)"

How about we assume good faith before accusing people of not being a "good Wikipedian? That was really quite unnecessary! I didn't personally change any of those things, though I see they are linked to my edits. I presume it was a software hiccup or computer gremlins. This is the first time I think it has happened (that anyone told me about anyway) Probably my browser (Safari) and my computer (Mac) didn't like the format of the diacritical characters and too-helpfully chopped them without asking first. Given that I have no idea what happened, I also have no idea how to fix it either. Probably being sure any odd characters are in a standard ASCII format would be the safest fix. Sorry it happened, but it was an inadvertent and innocent accident, so be nice the next time, and assume good faith before you accuse people of being malicious! Sheesh! [edit] Um...?

You wrote: "I just use M.S. everything, O.S. and IE etc. Have you not got a meesage thing on your Wiki account, I want to ask you about vandalism on Show jumping & clean up."

Um, Message thing on wiki account? Explain--or provide wikilink. I tend to avoid MS ANYTHING at home! (grin) Except that's all I have at work (wasting time at work doing wikipedia edits? moi?? <grin> Seriously, I will keep a close eye on my home software henceforth.

Vandalism is a HUGE PITA on all the horse pages, it seems. (Particularly when it comes to anatomical descriptions, it seems..sigh) A lot of the horse articles need some serious work, it's quite a challenge. Maybe we need to get together with User:Eventer and a couple of the other real active horse editors and see if we can start some kind of project to tackle these. Montanabw 22:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

I see they FINALLY semi-protected Horse. Were you monitoring the equestrianism article when it was having the, er, "Lady Godiva" problem? I begged and begged the admins to lock out the vandal, placed warnings on his page, begged for locking the page, all to no avail. Apparently as long as we have this stuff on our watchlist and it isn't a daily disaster, we ARE the monitors...sigh. FYI if you want a project, the FEI article needs some help. [edit] Irish flag in your sig

As per preferences page Raw signature (If unchecked, the contents of the box above will be treated as your nickname and link automatically to your user page; if checked, the contents should be source code, including all links. Don't use images, templates, or external links in your signature) (Gnevin 01:30, 9 December 2006 (UTC))

Hi Culnacreann, to be honest I've never used this option for signing. I guess if you want a signature with special effects (like the flag you wish to display) you should go to your "my preferences", and uncheck the box "raw signature", so your flag shows as an image. I guess when you have this box checked you should only have a plain text signature with no images, etc. If you have any further problem, please, let me know. Hoverfish 15:35, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

To clarify, raw signature means that whatever you type as your signature will be your signature. If you uncheck the box, then if you write a link, it'll make it a link instead of having the URL fully written out. So what you're during it right, because I can see your flag of Ireland in the signature. Mipchunk 17:29, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
