[edit] Double Dare

I have removed Double Dare from the list. Although the show was originally filmed in Philadelphia, the show didn't really have a "setting." Lbbzman 01:27, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Inventing the Abbots

  • Basically you have two brothers, Joaquin Phoenix and and Billy Crudup's characters, and then there are the 3 Abbott girls who live in their town. The Abbotts are pretty much their whole family's life.

About two thirds of the way through the movie, Liv Tyler attends Bryn Mawr College, while Joaquin Phoenix attends the University of Pennsylvania. A good portion of the movie is during this time when they are in college. While they make specific mention of the colleges I have no idea whether the movie was actually filmed at these two schools.

[edit] The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenomenon

  • This is a movie about Tony Danza being some garbageman who can kick water cartons long distances. Basically think of the movie "The Rookie", except in this case the main character has a ridiculous LEG as opposed to a ridiculous ARM. The Philadelphia Eagles sign him and he plays for them. I haven't seen this movie in quite some time. So I can't say with confidence whether this made for TV movie was actually shot in Philadelphia.

[edit] Boy Meets World

  • Like any good Philly native, I enjoyed this show for its Philadelphia ties...with Corey and Sean caring so much about the local sports teams, especially the Phillies and Flyers. However, while being based in Philadelphia I doubt any of it was actually shot in Philly.

Can we add Fat Albert the TV cartoon? Since that was also based in Philly to my knowledge?

[edit] Kid Rock

Yes, in Kid Rock's "You Never Met a Motherfucker Quite Like Me" the lyric does say "Went from small time philly to big time Bobby." But is that "Philly" as in Philadelphia? Or is it a young horse? Horse makes sense in context. So, it does not seem to refer to the city. Mdbrownmsw 20:06, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
