Culture of Brittany

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Brittany is the name used to represent the ancient state of Brittany. Today the name Bretagne is used to denote the administrative area (région), whose capital is Rennes. The culture of Brittany is made up of a mixture of French and Celtic culture. Within France, Breton culture is closest regionally to that of Normandy and Aquitaine/Gascony (see Flag of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon). Brittany's strongest international connections tend to be in the United Kingdom, Canada and other Anglophone nations.
