Talk:Cuddlebuddy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The suggestion that this be merged into Cuddle Party is an awful one. The two are distinct phenomena. That they both involve cuddling is irrelevant. Cuddlebuddy is a type of inter-personal relationship whereas a cuddle party seems to be something rather specific to parts of the US as far as I can see and is a social thing. There is no need to merge them, or delete either article. Indeed:

"Cuddlebuddy relationships are similar in theory to Cuddle parties, the main difference being that the cuddlebuddy relationship is a one-on-one experience."

Cuddlebuddy seems to be something of an antidote to 'f*ckbuddy', against which the name must surely be derived.

It is a form of relationship, not a social experience.

The current suggestion is like arguing that f*ckbuddy be moved into an article on saunas or group sex or something like that.

I also believe that merging this article is ridiculous! How can you compare this to cuddle parties? It's like comparing monogamous relationships with orgies. It makes no sense. I'm guessing someone will realize this and delete that box at the top of the article. -The Commodore

Agreed. Cuddlebuddy is a one on one relationship, not an organized event with a number of people. Its like comparing a game of catch with your father and playing in Major League Baseball. One is informal between two people, one has rules and is with a large group. -FalconBob

Indeed that's why I created a separate page from Cuddle parties in the first place -- they are a totally different environment, with agreed rules and regulations. Added a short link to this page from Cuddle party. -Sonicfetus
