Cryptosporidium 137
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cryptosporidium 137, or Crypto for short, is a fictional extraterrestrial of the Furon race from the fictional planet Gorta. He is the first playable character in the game Destroy All Humans! and his clone appears in Destroy All Humans! 2. Crypto is a wise-cracking protagonist in the first game, who you control in third-person view. In the game, if you die as Crypto, he is replaced by a clone of himself (Crypto 138, Crypto 139, so on and so forth), who all share the same look, voice, memory and personality. It is stated in DAH! 2 that Crypto 137 is killed sometime between DAH! 1 and 2 and is thus replaced with Crypto 138, who is like the other clones except for the fact that he has functioning genitals.

[edit] Crypto and Pox
Throughout the game, Crypto is led by the Furon scientist Orthropox-13, who he seems to have known for a while and is on friendly informal terms, as shown in the game's intro when he says, "What's shakin', Pox? You look a little...what's the word....constipated." Pox gives him orders throughout the game and updates him on objectives and warnings. He develops mental powerups for Crypto through the game, which he trades for DNA. He also develops Furon weaponry and updates for them, as well as his Furon Scout Ship, which we recognize as a Flying Saucer or UFO.
[edit] Crypto's Handheld Weaponry
Through the first game, Crypto is given Furon weapons to complete various tasks, such as terrorizing townsfolk and causing damage to local police forces. During the game, there are certain weapons that Crypto seems to use more often than others in cutscenes and cinematics.
Zap-O-Matic- Thought to be the standard Furon military and law enforcement weapon in popular fandom. However, there is little to no proof on this, and what we know of it is that it seems to be a basic weapon. In the game, the weapon is used to fire a stream of electricity at the target and electrocutes them. The electric beam lasts only for as long as the Zap-O-Matic can remain charged, for the weapon shorts after running out of charge and quickly recharges afterwards. The shock can be transferred to nearby conductors by upgrading it in Pox's upgrades laboratory. After a target's body is electrocuted to death, it will swing in the air and somersault up when touching the electric beam.
After received, a new weapon seems to replace the Zap-O-Matic as Crypto's favorite:
Disintegrator Ray- This weapon is about the same size of the Zap-O-Matic, but is different in shape. It holds a canister of 100 shots, 150 when upgraded, each shot made of a thick ball of plasma that, when it touches an organic object, will disappear and burn all flesh off the bone of the target. The Disintigrator Ray is stronger than than the Zap-O-Matic not only in organic targets, but also vehicles. A few shots usually takes down enemy vehicles without problem. In the upgrades lab, it can be modified to shoot two or three shots at a time. After being shot at, no bodies will remain, which stops Crypto from collecting DNA from the body, which is used as currency for upgrades and level unlocking in the first game.
[edit] Other Weapons
Anal Probe- This weapon is available at the start of the game. It shoots a green glob, which hits the target, and causes their head to explode, extracting the DNA from the body. It is the smallest weapon in the game. To fire the probe, the probe must first be charged and then shot anywhere between one and four times until succesfully removing the brain. When shot, the target will run around holding their behind, screaming.
Ion Detonator- This weapon is the most powerful handheld weapon in the game. It shoots out a grenade, which detonates within 10 seconds if not manually triggered. It can also harm Crypto when he is too close of the Ion Detonator.
[edit] Mental powers
Crypto has a number of mental abilities that grant him advantage over humans. These abilities are as followed:
Psychokinesis- This simple ability allows Crypto to use mental energy to lift and toss around objects and people. Mental implants can be obtained through upgrades to allow him the ability to lift heavier objects, such as cars and tanks. Psychokinesis comes with a simple command menu to bring an object closer, farther and/or toss the object. The heavier the object, the more power that is consumed to keep it aloft, the harder it is to move it around, and the more damage it does when thrown into something.
Cortex Scan- Scans the brain of the target to read their thoughts, which then can be used to build mental energy.
Brain Extraction- Extracts the subject's brain, which then is used for DNA. The harder an enemy, the more the brain is worth. Normal humans are worth 10-25, Police are 25, Army units and Air Force officials are usually 25-50, and on rare occasions 75, scientists between 50-75, and Majestic (A half-and-half combo of the Men in Black and Majestic-12 from popular conspiracy theories) 75-100. Some town Crazies can have up to 75 DNA. Important characters are usually worth more, such as the President of the United States or town Mayors.
Hypno Beam- Uses two basic types of hypnosis to allow you to escape: Distraction and Sleep. Distraction makes the subject sing and dance or flail their arms like idiots to attract the attention of nearby people. Sleep causes the subject to fall asleep for a while. Other commands are available when needed, such as following Crypto, or driving trucks.
