CRY 107.2FM
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CRY 107.2FM is an Irish radio station based in Youghal, County Cork.
Having operated as a "pirate" station from 1978 to 1988, CRY was granted a community broadcasting licence in 1995.
CRY reappeared on the airwaves on 105.1FM, originally with weekday broadcasting hours of 2pm to 6pm, consisting of a two-hour music and sport show from 2-4, community and women's programming from 4:00-4:30, rounding off with "Youghal In Focus", a 90-minute news and current affairs show.
A weekend service originally ran from 9am to 2pm, but within six months, weekend hours had been extended to 9pm to take in live sport, and a relay of Saturday evening Mass.
The station flourished for many years on its original frequency, but was moved to 107.2FM in 2002 to facilitate the launch of county-wide pop station Red FM (Ireland).
CRY now runs 9am-6pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-9pm Friday-Sunday.
