[edit] Beta and Development
Crowns of Power has now entered it's first round of Closed Alpha testing. About fifty members were invited to test the game, and more will be added later. It is still oficaially in 'alpha' phase, because the testing is for only the core functionas available in the game. There are already over 450 members currently signed up on the forums, and three administrator. When updates come along, there will be a buzz on the Crowns of Power forums.
[edit] Beta Sign Ups
You can now sign up for beta testing. More applicants will be added as beta progresses.
[edit] Characters
[edit] Creation
Unlike most current MMORPGs on the market, you will not select a class when you start the game. You create a character and start at the same point everyone else does: With a set amount of HP and equipment. You do, however, get to choose where stats go when you start. You then train in certain "school" depending on the skills you want to learn.
[edit] Advancement
[edit] Character
Your character will have the ability to level up by killing monsters and completing quests. You start out with a certain amount of HP and you will gain one every time you level up. You also choose a "school" that defines the abilities you can learn.
[edit] Skills
One you choose a school, you can buy the level one abilities from it. The effectiveness of the abilities will increase as you use them. Upon reaching a certain level of effectiveness, you will be able to purchase the level two ability from the school. You continue to advance through skills this way throughout the game.
[edit] Death
If you die, you lose a certain amount of XP and maximum HP. You also drop everything in your inventory on the ground where you died, so get back quickly to prevent another player from stealing your items.
[edit] The Game
[edit] Monster Variety
There will be many different types of monsters in Crowns of Power, such as elephants. Other fantasy-based creatures will also be included, such as Goblins and Imps. Other kinds are revealed monthly.
[edit] PvP
There will be PvP areas all around CoP. If you attack an innocent, you become an outlaw. If you KILL another innocent, you're a murderer. There are certain times when players will have a "sanctuary" and cannot be killed/attacked by other players. One such time is right after creating your character.
