Crown Publishing Group
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Crown Publishing Group is a subsidiary of Random House, the world's largest English-language general trade book publisher. It originated in 1933 and was founded and run by Alan Mirken until its purchase by Random House. It is known today for the broad scope of its publishing program and the aggressive nature of its marketing efforts.
Its imprints include Crown, Crown Business, Crown Forum, Three Rivers Press, Clarkson Potter, Harmony, Shaye Areheart, and Bell Tower. Formerly, the company also used the Prima Publishing and related imprints, although these have now either been discontinued or transferred to other Random House units. Its dozens of authors include such names as Deepak Chopra, Ann Coulter, Barack Obama and Martha Stewart.
