Crossroads is the first ever full fledged shopping mall in Mumbai, and perhaps in India. Opened in 1999 by Piramal Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of a major pharmaceutical group, it is India's first mall management company. The mall covers an area of 150,000 square feet (14,000 m²), spread over four buildings in the heart of the city.

Its ideal location in the upmarket South Mumbai precinct of Tardeo, along with the novelty factor of a shopping mall, turned out be the cause of its instant success. Hundreds of people from every corner of the city cone to experience shopping, entertainment and food in an international ambience everyday, in what is being termed as 'shoppertainment experience'. Today the mall is just one amongst the dozens of new malls mushroomed in ever nook and corner of the city.

The company's second mall in south Mumbai, called CR2 is at Nariman Point, and has among other things, a five cinema multiplex by INOX, food courts, entertainment and amusement facilities and an eight-level parking. There is also an annexe of the Crossroads Mall being opened just opposite the original structure called Baysidemall, which will house small shops selling specific items. Plans are also in place to construct new Crossroads Mall at Pune and in other parts of India to capitalise on the Crossroads brand.
