Crorepati

A crorepati (IPA: [krɔrpɑti]; Hindi: करोड़पती़, crorepati [?]) is a person who resides in a household whose net worth or wealth exceeds ten million Indian rupees, or units of a comparably valued currency. The term crorepati is derived from the unit crore — part of the Indian numbering system, equivalent to 100 lakhs or 10 million.
Although crorepatis (in Indian rupees) have less than one-quarter the net wealth of a millionaire (in US dollars), when adjusted for the substantially lower cost of living in India, the classifications are comparable [citation needed].
The Indian game show Kaun Banega Crorepati (Loose translation: "Who wants to be a crorepati"), based on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, first aired in 2005 on the Star Network throughout India and shared the same success as its foreign counterparts.
