Crooksville, Ohio

Crooksville is a village in Perry County, Ohio, along Moxahala Creek. The population was 2,483 at the 2000 census. It is the home of Hull pottery, one of the best known Ohio potteries.

Crooksville is located at 39°46′9″N, 82°5′41″W (39.769070, -82.094733)GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.0 km² (1.5 mi²), all land.Its also home of the crooksville ceramics wich visited athens in 04 but lost do to a bad interception and other bad reasons.This year they were 6-0 but lost the playoff game when lake channel(QB)threw an interceptionan they scored a touchdown winning the game in overtime ceramics 6 new lex 12.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 2,483 people, 968 households, and 664 families residing in the village. The population density was 626.6/km² (1,627.6/mi²). There were 1,068 housing units at an average density of 269.5/km² (700.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.47% White, 0.24% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.04% Asian, and 1.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.40% of the population.

There were 968 households out of which 35.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% were married couples living together, 12.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% were non-families. 27.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 3.07.

In the village the population was spread out with 28.5% under the age of 18, 9.2% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 33 years. For every 100 females there were 89.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.1 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $26,838, and the median income for a family was $34,615. Males had a median income of $27,115 versus $20,179 for females. The per capita income for the village was $14,995. About 9.4% of families and 13.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 18.4% of those under age 18 and 10.4% of those age 65 or over.
