Cromwell College

Cromwell College, University of Queensland is a residential college of the University of Queensland in St Lucia, Queensland, Australia. Cromwell College was founded in 1950 and initially funded by a generous gift from the Hancock family. The College is now affiliated with the Uniting Church. Cromwell was the first of the Colleges on the St Lucia campus in June 1954, and admitted men only until it became co-ed in 1973. The College currently accommodates 190 undergraduates.

Cromwell College was host to the Queensland Youth Aerospace Forum in 2006.

The emblem of Cromwell College is a Lion. The Dining Hall is central to the college which is laid out it a relaexed sprawling style with gardens integrated. The college has five "corridors" (dormitories) named after influential people in Cromwell's history. The corridor names are North, Lockley, Thatcher, Dowling and Hancock. A chapel, tennis court and a brand new entertainment/function room aptly called the "Lions Den".

Being situated on Walcott Street, provides easy access to the Universtiy for students. Grace College is in close proximity to Cromwell and the two colleges share a rich history together.

The current Principal of Cromwell College is Rev. Hugh Begbie.
