Talk:Crimbo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clearly this article has been overtaken by a bunch of ignorant Kingdom of Loathing players unaware of this being a tiny tiny fragment of the useage of this word. The word crimbo is decades old for god's sake.

You're right man. On the KoL page it doesn't even mention Crimbo.

Actually, it is mentioned on occasion. Cai 22:58, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
Totally true. I heard of 'Crimbo' on British children's TV years and years before KoL existed. It's a standard (if irritating) UK term for a non-religious-specific Christmas. It may have gained some form of popularity from KoL, but this article's very misleading. Cai 22:58, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
As a Kingdom of Loathing player, I can understand wanting to point it out. However, the stress should not be on its use within KoL. Out of curiosity I looked it up and was surprised to see that it was mostly about the Kingdom's useage of the word. Xym 00:57, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
I've tried my best to make it more encyclopedic and referenced the kingdom's OWN WIKI for more information regarding Crimbo in the kingdom. Hopefully this will settle it. Xym 01:11, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion

Looking at the history of this page, the article used to be just a redirect to Christmas. Perhaps, instead of stubbing this article and waiting for a knowledgeable contributor, it should be made to redirect once again since I am doubtful that there is more information than these few lines to be had. An appropriate (and short) note could be made on the Christmas article (if there isn't one there already). Xym 02:37, 6 January 2006 (UTC)
