Cristo si è fermato a Eboli (Christ Stopped at Eboli) is a book by Carlo Levi, published in 1945, giving an account of his exile from 1935-1936 to Aliano, a remote town in southern Italy, in the region of Lucania. In the book he gives the town the invented name 'Gagliano'.

It was made into a movie, directed by Francesco Rosi, in 1979. The movie starred Gian Maria Volontè as Carlo Levi, with Paolo Bonacelli, Alain Cuny, Léa Massari, and Irene Papas.
It received the British Academy Award for Foreign Language Film in 1982.
