Cresson, Texas

Cresson is a city in Hood County, Texas (USA). A small portion of the city lies in neighboring Johnson County. It is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 377 and State Highway 171, seventeen miles southwest of Fort Worth. According to a 2005 U.S. census estimate, its population is 543.
The city was named after John Cresson, captain of a wagon train that camped in the area before the civil war.
Cresson was incorporated in 2001.
The Granbury Independent School District serves area students.
