Crescent Station, New York

Crescent Station is an Upstate New York hamlet in northern Albany County that straddles U.S. Route 9. It is located in the Town of Colonie. While Colonie's hamlets do not have specifically demarcated borders, Crescent Station is generally considered to include the areas adjacent to U.S. Route 9 south of its crossing of the Mohawk River at the northernmost point in Albany County and the Town of Colonie.
Crescent Station takes its name from a stop on the Troy & Schenectady (T&S) Branch of the New York Central Railroad, 15.49 miles by rail from Schenectady. The T&S Line was completed in 1842. Passenger service ended in 1932, though a Ford tractor branch in Crescent continued to receive service. In 1965, service between Crescent Station and Niskayuna was cut. By 1984, the entire T&S line was abandoned. It is now part of the Mohawk-Hudson Regional Bike Path.
Colonie's town landfill is located at the north end of the hamlet, near the border with Cohoes and the Mohawk River. The Colonie Town Park is to the west, between Crescent Station and the Colonie hamlet of Dunsbach Ferry.
