Crescent Shipyard, located in Elizabeth, New Jersey, built a number of ships for the United States Navy. These ships include the Plunger-class submarines Plunger, Adder, Moccasin, Porpoise, and Shark. The shipyard was owned and operated by Lewis Nixon.
