Creede Williams

The acoustic rock band Creede Williams was formed in 2004 by University of Oklahoma alumnus Creede Williams (where he roomed with The Young and the Restless actor Thad Luckinbill) ; after graduation in 1999, the singer songwriter relocated to Los Angleles. Cary Pierce (see Jackopierce) produced Creede Williams debut record, Something Borrowed. The album was released under the imprint ForEverything Records in 2005. Something Borrowed was recorded at Satellite Studios, a makeshift recording facility owned by John Kirtland of Deep Blue Something (see Breakfast at Tiffany's).

Over a period of several months, Cary Pierce and Creede Williams constructed the backbone which would be the duo's debut release. Musicians on the record include perennial "frat-rock" members such as Sean Hurley of Vertical Horizon and Ed Toth of the Doobie Brothers. Additional musicians included Christian artist Jon Abel and assorted members of the band, Jackopierce.

The production quality of the record reflects Cary Pierce's experiences with producers such as T-Bone Burnett (Counting Crows) and John Alagia (Ben Folds Five, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, David Gray). The album received critical praise for its somewhat literate subject matter and rich harmonies. The bulk of the writing reflects love, loss and the hardships associated with life in California.

By most accounts, Creede Williams tours as a solo artist in small to moderate sized venues. His background as an attorney is evident on the somewhat clever turns of phrase and unnecessary verbiage inherent in his lyricism. Interestingly, his fan base relish his made-up words (or Creedioms) and conversational stage presence.

Creede Williams sophomore release is scheduled for Summer 2007.
