Crassigyrinus scoticus was an amphibian from the early Carboniferous period, from Scotland. It is known from two specimens. The complete one is only missing its tail, which was probably long for better swimming. Crassigyrinus had small, very weak limbs that were virtually useless, therefore, this amphibian was almost completely aquatic. Some scientists regard Crassigyrinus as a reptiliomorph.
