Craig Johnson (ice hockey player)

Craig Johnson (born March 8, 1972 in St. Paul, Minnesota), is an American ice hockey player who currently plays for the DEG Metro Stars of Germany's Deutsche Eishockey League. Johnson was the 33rd pick of the St. Louis Blues in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft. He was part of the trade that sent Wayne Gretzky to St. Louis, sending Johnson, Patrice Tardif, Roman Vopat and two draft picks to the Los Angeles Kings. He also spent his NHL for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals. He played 557 regular season games, scoring 75 goals and 98 assists for 173 points, picking up 260 penalty minutes. He moved to Germany's DEL and played for the Hamburg Freezers during the 2004-05 NHL Lockout leading the team in goals with 19. He currently plays for the DEG Metro Stars of the DEL.
