Craig Hinton (born 26 November 1977 in Birmingham) is an English professional footballer who can play anywhere along the back line was a trainee at Birmingham City under Kevan Broadhurst currently plays for League Two side Bristol Rovers.
[edit] Kidderminster Harriers (1998-2004)
Hinton moved to the Kidderminster Harriers in September 1998 after being a trainee with Birmingham City and failing to break into the 1st team at St. Andrews. When he first joined Aggborough he played at right back until Jan Mølby took over as manager and played him at centre back. In 1999/00 season Hinton only missed one game - this was the year Harriers clinched the Conference title. He was then ever present the year after Harriers first year of league football. He made a total of 214 appearances in 6 years at Aggborough when he declined a new contract in the summer of 2004 and a number of clubs wanted to sign him. He chose to join former Birmingham City Youth Coach Kevan Broadhurst who was the assistant to Ian Atkins at Bristol Rovers.
[edit] Bristol Rovers (2004-Present)
Hinton joined Bristol Rovers in the summer of 2004 where he played most of his 38 league appearances at right-back. He has recently (Summer 2006) signed a new deal keeping him at the Memorial Stadium for a further 2 years. He made 36 appearances in his second season at the club and has made a firm defensive partnership with Steve Elliot in the centre of defence.
