Cracked Actor (song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"Cracked Actor" is a song written by David Bowie for the album Aladdin Sane in 1973. The song was released as a single in Eastern Europe by RCA in June 1973. The worldwide milking of Aladdin Sane continued with Cracked Actor, a bizarre selection for David's first single release in Russia. Designed to ride the wave of local publicity generated by his Trans-Siberian jaunt earlier in the year, it was released at a time when Western music was finally beginning to make some impression on the Soviet market.
