Craciformes

An order of birds comprising the megapode and the curassow families. These two families were formerly placed in the Galliformes, but have now been given this new order based on DNA evidence.

There are about 70 species, located mostly in Oceania and Latin America. The species are all generally game bird-like in appearance, and range in size roughly from 45-90cm in length.
