[edit] Written new article
I've written a new article for Coyote Ragtime Show at its temporary subpage, as recommended by the template notification in the main article, so I'd like the aforementioned article at the temporary subpage to be moved to the main article, to quickly resolve this situation as soon as possible. ~ Ganryuu (talk) 05:15, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Bruce vs. Blues
Putting "It's Blues because of the unrealistic nature of Coyote, Bruce is wrong" is as good as putting "It's Blues because I said so." That is COMPLETE rubbish. There is no source that says ブルース = Blues in the Coyote Universe. ブルース is actually how you spell Bruce the male name in Katakana. I have adjusted the current article to have bias towards Bruce because it is written like a name with the "・" character as a separator! Do not revert it back without reading this statement!
Example: Bruce Lee: http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9%E3%83%BB%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC
Until you come up with proof that it's one or the other, do not put such biased statements here. Wikipedia is supposed to be NEUTRAL. At best it should say his name is either Bruce OR Blues, not insist one is correct and the other is wrong. Without a CITATION, that is complete bullshit.
I have amended the statements by Chelsea and Nielson as well to reflect what I did with ブルース. -_-
- Well, sor-ry. I didn't say Bruce was wrong, I said Blues was probably right. I know very well that ブルース is Bruce as well as Blues. His name could be Bruise for all we know. Look as "Swamp Gordon"- that's written as a name, and no one names their kid Swamp, do they? You're being a little testy... --Sana Jisushi 19:03, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'd have gone with "Blues", personally. The pronunciation in the series softens the "ru" part to be closer to an "l", and they don't put the emphasis I'd expect on "u" for Bruce. Plus, it seems to make sense to me for him to be named after "The Blues", as the show is named after music too, i.e. "Bebop". Err, "Ragtime". Also... his eye is blue...? ^_^; I would look out the Katakana for "Blues" (perhaps hunting down info on Proto Man might help?) before getting so certain about Bruce. I'd agree with Sana that you're a little testy... Darien Shields 00:28, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, hold on, here we are. ProtoMan.EXE's article... "ProtoMan.EXE, known as Blues.EXE (ブルース.EXE Burūsu.eguze)". So the Katakana hold no preference for either Bruce or Blues. Darien Shields 00:30, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Okay, what evidence do we have for Blues?
- The musical theme of terms in the show (e.g. Ragtime, Graceland, Elvis), many of these particularly referring to blues
- The unrealistic nature of many pirate names and nicknames in the series
- The character's camera contact lens, which drives much of the story, is blue
VS the evidence for Bruce...
- It's written like a name. (Yes, it is. So is Swamp Gordon, and nobody names their kid that. This is a common defence, often supplemented with the name of Bruce Lee, but what good does it do? We know that Bruce is written that way. So is Blues.)
- Bruce was used by gg-fansubs, while Blues was used by Lunar Anime, which has a history of mixing up names (I'll give you this one... "Luchia Nanami" or "Feena Fam Ashlight", anyone? However, just because Lunar has made mistakes in the past does not mean that you should discredit the use of "Blues" to refer to this character. This is what we are talking about, not Lunar's past mistakes.)
Given the circumstantial evidence, which is really all we have right now, I can only conclude that his name is highly probably Blues. Sana Jisushi 04:47, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Since when was it confirmed Katana is Japanese?
Where did THIS come from? I've removed it because I don't recall it ever being stated in the series.
