Alyson Renae "Aly" Michalka and Amanda Joy "AJ" Michalka star as Taylor and Courtney Callum, two spoiled rich girls whose father Reed Callum, (Jack Coleman) owns Callum Dairy. Taylor has just gotten her license, after almost failing it at the beginning of the movie. But then their life turns upside down. One day, when Taylor and Courtney return from a shopping trip, they find their kitchen has burned because of them leaving a burner on on the stove, causing the kitchen to catch fire. Shocked by their carelessness, Reed puts them to work at the dairy to show them responsibility about running a business.

When the girls start working at the dairy, they are at their worst nightmare. They mess up almost every step of the way, such as tripping and splashing blueberries on themselves, and dropping Courtney's cell phone into one of the full yogurt cups. Soon after they start working there, someone steals all the money out of the businesses bank account. It's then up to the girls to come up with a plan to save the dairy, and the jobs of all the people who work there.

  • Like many other DCOMs, this movie was filmed in Toronto, Canada.
  • Aly and AJ shot a music video for On the Ride that premiered on Disney Channel two weeks before the movie did.
  • Cow Belles was released on DVD on June 27, 2006. The DVD features a full-screen, full- length movie with an exclusive alternate ending, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and two Aly & A.J. music videos. [Source: Ultimate Disney News.
  • Cow Belles premiered on Disney Channel Asia on August 6, 2006 (original ending version) and November 19, 2006 (alternate ending version).
  • Family Channel in Canada first aired Cow Belles on June 30, 2006.
  • After the large success of the premire of this movie a sequel was in the works titled Cow Belles 2: Back To The Dairy but however plans were ditched when Aly & AJ said that they did not want to return to again play the Callum sisters.
  • When Taylor is brushing her hair in front of the mirror when she is getting ready to go to give the check to Jackson, you can see some baby pictures of when she was young in real life on the mirror.

  • The girl who falls into the pool at the dance falls in with a microphone. Falling into a pool with a microphone causes an electric shock.
  • In the final scene, where couples begin to dance, you can see Richie and Heather dancing. But in the next shot, the two are standing, then approach the dance floor together.

  • The movie is set in the fictional town of River City.
  • There is some confusion as to whether or not Callum Dairy is a real location. However, Callum Dairy is actually a fictional place.
  • Courtney shopped at a dress store called Holly's. There really is a dress store called Holly's.
