"Covenant" is an episode of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1.

Alec Colson, a wealthy and veritable aerospace entrepreneur claims to the world he possesses evidence of extraterrestrial life, effectively exposing the SGC's various exploits over the years. He seems harmless until he appears to produce a real Asgard at a press conference. The team discovers that Colson's company was one of the many tech companies that the SGC contracted to work on back-engineering alien technology, and that he was a key member in the production of the F-302 fighter. As part of the SGC effort to sequence Asgard DNA, one of the subsidiary companies under Colson's direction was contracted for the work; after performing the process for the SGC, the company proceeded to secretly clone the Asgard, which was then presented in the press release.
Meanwhile, Colson is contemplating releasing information about Anubis' attack on Earth when suddenly, the Asgard clone, all of the cloning equipment, and Colson himself are beamed out, much to the surprise of his staff. At the SGC, Carter reveals the truth about the Stargate program, and pleads with him not to reveal the truth, but the plan backfires, and Colson is more emboldened to tell his story. However, after an assassination attempt, as well as the suicide of one of Colson's most trusted employees, SG-1 discovers that The Trust has targeted Colson for assassination. Carter convinces Colson to hide out at the Alpha Site for his own protection, though he vows that someday the truth will get out.

- Alec Colson was originally named Andrew Colson, and was intended to be a recurring character.
- Julia Donovan (Kendall Cross) previously appeared in season six's "Prometheus".
- Chronologically, this episode takes place five months since the battle over Antarctica (in Lost City (Part 2)).
- The new Alpha Site is now built inside of a mountain, like the SGC.
- The Colson Industries logo is the Sci-Fi Channel logo, inverted and upside down.
- Alec is introduced to a character named 'Shefield' when he goes off-world. Charles Shaughnessy played a character named Maxwell Sheffield on The Nanny.
- It is confirmed here that Kinsey is no longer Vice-President.
- Since this episode was supposed to air before "Affinity", there is a bit of dialogue added of Sam telling Colson about the Trust before Vogler confesses, even though in the original script when this was to air before "Affinity", no such dialogue was included.
- When Lt Col Carter and Dr Jackson show Alec Colson the Stargate after he is beamed to Stargate Command, he reacts as if he's never seen it before. However, earlier in the episode, when Lt Col Carter and Dr Jackson are initially talking to Alec Colson about not going public, behind Colson on the wall is a picture of the Stargate and ramp from above from inside Stargate Command.
- According to Executive Producer Joseph Mallozzi, this episode was intended to air before Affinity.
