[edit] Pronunciation of the name

Whilst the received pronunciation is "Cools-don" (IPA /'ku:lsdən/), many locals pronounce it "Coals-den" (/'kəʊlsdən/).

Erm, no we don't. The received pronounciation is correct as written in IPA, however the more common pronounciation is actually 'Callsdun' (this will read better to people who live around London than anywhere else; I can't work out how to write 'call' in IPA as it's pronounced by 95% of London, hence the note here). --Veratien 10:25, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Addition of St. Andrews Church

Was surprised to see no mention of the local Anglican Church on the article. Have added both a reference and a link at the bottom - hope this is acceptable. And for the record, I say 'Koo-wuls-den'. If that makes sense! :) Tom Black 23:38, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
