Courtney Williams was born in Queens, New York. He started playing drums at the age of seven years old for his church. At the age of eleven years old, he played drums on his first album which was a gospel album.

Right after this recording, Courtney Williams was seen as a young child prodigy and just threw word of mouth. Courtney was taken by many groups and put on short tours that would not keep him out of school for too long. The music that Courtney Williams would play as a drummer for his teenage years would cover a vast range of music and he would spend this next part of his life having the music school on hands education of touring, recording and even handling some of the music business with such music groups or artist. Most of these groups are legends in music history such as Miles Davis’s saxophone player “Kenny Garret” (jazz), “Color me badd” (pop), “Marianne Faithfull” (rock), “Projecto Uno” (meringue, salsa, bachata), “Denroy Morgan and Morgans Heritage” (reggae), “Run DMC” (Hip-Hop)"Raising Hell" Album and many other groups.

Courtney W. is also no rookie to performing on T.V. Shows, cable shows or making special appearances in movies for example he has played drums for other artist and has appeared on "The American Music Awards", "Soul Train Awards", "Essence Awards", "Arsenio Hall Show", "Jay Leno Show", "Late Nigh with David Letterman", "Ammnesty Awards", "Conan O'Brien", "Oprah Winfrey Show", New York City's own "Metro" cable show, "Ebonee Show", "MTV unplugged", "VH1 unplugged", "The Grammy's", T.V. show soap opera "One Life To Live", T.V. show "Sisters", "Bill Cosby Show"...and etc.

Seeing the world at least six times through playing drums touring with many artist and groups, Courtney decided that he wanted to have his own label which would allow him to have his creative freedom in a music industry that usually dictates what they want you to be like. This new age of independent artist having his own record label and putting out his own music, made Courtney feel great. Maewi Records was born and now Courtney Williams has written four albums of music[1]. The first CD on his label Maewi Records is called “Storyteller”, a contemporary commercial pop jazz CD, which has climbed incredible heights in a very short time without any distribution or radio play. “Storyteller” was in the movie “Secret Indictment”, an international movie that was released in November of 2003. In this movie, “Storyteller” had four songs from the album featured in this movie: “Las Chicas Bonita”, “Just Relax”, “Stoyteller” and “Knee-Deep-Strong”. The writer and director of the movie felt so strong about the music that he requested that Courtney Williams write three more songs for the movie. Also in the month (November 2003), Courtney got great news from DMX music. A music program for independent and major record labels, after having “Storyteller” played on DMX in flight entertainment program that hits over fifty five international airlines. “Hustlers Theme” (a song from Storyteller) made number one for smooth jazz and stayed in the top five for a month.

Courtney Williams was in the center of performing with shows in New York and then he started to promote “Storyteller” on the very star studded Prestigious Island of entertainers called Saint-Barthélémy, which is where Courtney performed “Storyteller” live, at BouBous festival held during the summer of 2003 by Yannick Noah (who has sold over 7 million CDs in Europe in 2004-2005) and BouBou. Yannick Noah quoted “Courtney’s show made me feel energetic, incredible show”.

Courtney Williams has become a well rounded musician, song writer, vocalist and composer of what he calls a new sound of music that is easy enough to be heard and understood by all. Courtney quotes "It’s important in my music to uplift people’s spirits and souls, especially when I write the lyrics, because I feel now and always have that the human soul is more powerful positive than if it is negative, and it is a responsibility of mine now".

Now changing his name to C-Will, he has a few projects he is approaching. One of these projects are video, audio talking seminars called "Positive Life Force" which talks about the relationships, approaching every day life task, dealing with losts of family, relatives or friends, trying to change your life for the better.....etc. C-Will plans to have part of his website devoted to these video and audio seminars and also a new website devoted to them. Quotation from C-Will about this new project..."Honesty is easy to say, but for some hard to live. I feel that I've always made an effort to try to improve on myself, and being human, you make mistakes, but it's about trying to do the right thing most, if not, all of the time, but this is not easy, because there also is life that gives you yin and yang, so, sometimes you need a word of encouragement along the way, because your intentions could be communicated wrong threw or by someone else and depending on personalities or character, this could be difficult to deal with or better depending on the way a person approaches it". Look for the videos or audio called "Positive Life Force", soon to come on the C-Will website.. www.cwill1.com

C-Will also plays drums, sings, raps and performs with an Urban Rock Artist out of new york city named "Reese"[2] and has played drums on his first album CD called "Eclectic Soul". "Reese" will be releasing a new album CD entitled "New Fire" which really explains it all for this independent artist and the three band member of musicians that perform with him. C-Will is proud to be on this album in many ways. First C-Will plays drums, raps, sings backgrounds on a song entitled "Ah-Ah, Yeah-Yeah", (Which talks about the upbringing of the band and organization of the Reese band and organization in general). Second, C-Will really has a great attitude toward completely supporting independent artist who take on the chore and task of being independent in a very tall big music industry that often tries to control peoples art form and often, tries to control the people themselves. The other song C-Will is featured on is a "Bob Marley" song called "War" with a drum solo. It is quite ironic that when C-Will was performing drums on this song in the studio with "Reese", he was also recording his new album CD that is out called "Frustrated" and was on tour at the time with "Marianne Faithfull". "Bob Marley is truly a musical and lyrical spiritual leader, and I feel the spirituality of this music called "Reggae" anytime I perform this song live or just rehearse it...I'm transformed into walking threw time being held by the waves and roller-coasters that this song takes you threw while performing it" says C-Will. "Reese" has entered the "Emergenza" battle of the bands and has won twice and now has moved onto the next third round which will be held at "The Knitting Factory" in New York City in May of 2006. This competition is very competitive with bands from all over the world. Look for more information on "Reese" at www.exilerecords.com[3] and also www.cwill1.com[4]

The other artist that C-Will performs with is a female artist named "Neycha"[5]. C-Will has performed drums on two of her albums entitled "The Dirty Side Up" and the new one just out now called "White Noise". You have to understand that "Neycha" is a very creative artist that moves threw music creatively at a fast rate and is often looking for new change musically as well as visually. The music of "Neycha" is a firery, soulful, acid rockish, punk and funk oriented circle that keeps rotating in all of songs. This artist has a lot to talk about and is often emotionally giving it to her fans and new listeners with a lot of heart and soul. C-Will admires this also independent artist because she is into positive upliftment and change for the human soul. "Neycha" now takes on the quest to help others threw her music with performing for organizations and Foundations that help people. This young independent artist has a lot more to offer with her lyric and poetry which you can see on her website. There is a lot more to say about this artist, but you should see it for yourself at www.neycha.com[6] or www.cwill1.com[7]

Now with his new album “Frustrated”[8] and his new name C-Will, Courtney looks forward to doing festivals and shows throughout the spring, summer and fall seasons. He has finished the European American tour 2004-2005 playing drums and singing backgrounds for Marianne Faithfull’s new CD “After The Poison”, but in between he performed songs from his new CD “Frustrated” on his time off from the tour in New York City and parts of Europe. He played drums in the worldwide distributed video of Marianne Faithfulls tour, by "Eagle Rock Entertainment", filmed in Hollywood California 2005 called "Marianne Faithfull"-"Live in Hollywood" and Courtney Williams helps celebrate Marianne Faithfulls 40th Anniversary in the music business by covering one of his favorite Marianne cover songs “Falling From Grace” on his “Frustrated” album CD for 2005-2006. "Frustrated" also has a great review from the #1 source leading magazine for music industry distributed internationally called "The Inside Connection". The review is on page 22. for the March 2006 issue.

[edit] Album Discography and in depth history on each one

  • Storyteller (2002)

Storyteller was created by C-Will, (also known as Courtney Williams), and co-produced by the talented "Burny Pelsmajer". C-Will wrote all songs and him and burny did the arrangements together. This album was done out of three studios in New York City and Brooklyn. The preproduction was done at C-Will's studio Morton Street studios and Burny's studio uptown in Washington Heights New York City, then the tracks were made instrumentally wise at 2 studios in Brooklyn New York called "Good and Evil" and "Benit Pastor Studios" of www.organic.com The mixing and mastering was done at "Good and Evil" Studios. all of the New York City musicians that were on this album came threw and went to become very successful in their careers....and C-Will had the eye to catch these kinds of up and coming solo artist musicians that performed on this "Storyteller" album. Storyteller became a successful album with DMX music which made the song "Hustlers Theme" number 1 on the inflight entertainment jazz charts which was heard on over 75 different airlines internationally and was aired in over 5 million homes nation wide on the music choice channel on cable T.V.

  • Open Doors (2003)

This Album CD was an experiment for C-Will to prove he could produce vocals and instrumentals to touch a wide range of audiences from young to old and this album was heard by the "Group Partouche" in France, and gave C-Will a chance to perform at "Cannes Palm Beach Casino" for the 30th Anniversary of Groupe Partouche and C-Will opened up for Earth Wind and Fire in front of 10,000 people. Also the album CD "Open Doors" had the songs played and featured in 2 surf videos of which were distributed in all of the Caribbean.

  • Reality (2004)

This album CD was worked on by C-Will alone as he for the first time engineered his own project and performed all the instruments and vocals. How this album came about was with the first 3 songs he wrote which was "I Adore You", "I really Wish" and "Try This", which these 3 songs were supposed to be used for NRJ Radio France to use, but that never manifested, and the more C-Will kept going back to write more songs to try to get played on NRJ Radio the more he was naturally forming this album which he would call "Reality" based on the hard stressfull fact that NRJ radio wouldn't play any of these songs even after C-Will made certain offers......and what did that mean.........absolutely nothing....because now he is getting this album CD played on major and minor radio stations in other countries in Europe, Asia, South America and the United States. Completely producing, performing and arranging all tracks by C-Will in the amazing New York City, this album "Reality" has more of a dance appeal to it and again has appeal for all age groups.
