Courtney Webb

Courtney Webb is a British actress and writer. She was born on January 20, 1988 in London, England to a Colombian mother and British Japanese father. Courtney lived for four years with her grandparents in Kyoto, where she learned to speak Japanese.
Webb has released eleven movies in her 18 years. She has established herself as a voice-over actress. She also attended BRIT School for the Performing Arts in Croydon.

[edit] The beginning
Webb started acting at the age of five, when she appeared in the West End production of A Tale of Two Cities. By the age of nine she was offered the role of a happy-go-lucky child on a series of advertisements for McDonald's.
By age 11 she had started acting in minor films such as Girl and the film version of the video game Blood Bath. She also started getting roles in international arthouse movies.
[edit] Solidifying her career
At the age of 15, Webb went to Tokyo in order to study Japanese theatre. While there she was offered the chance to double for Takako Fuji in The Grudge; she ended up getting a role as an extra in the film. A small scene in which she had no make up later ended up on the cutting room floor. In 2004, Courtney appeared in El Rey, a movie about Colombian gangsters which got her a nomination at the Colombian Movie Awards. She lost to Catalina Sandino Moreno. Also in 2004 she tried out for the role of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter movies but lost out to Katie Leung. Courtney also voiced anime shows such as Diamond Daydreams and also voiced on British television, most notably 2DTV

In July 2006, Webb's talent agency debunked rumors that she was going to play Miku in the upcoming movie Fatal Frame; instead, she will be starring in The Cottage with fellow soap star turned movie actress Jennifer Ellison. She has also filmed a part in the film version of the videogame Forbidden Siren, and taken on a role as the geisha Mineko Iwasaki at London's Barbican.
Currently, Webb is spending three months in Japan to improve her spoken Japanese in order to get more roles in the Japanese movie industry.
