County Route 620 (Ocean County, New Jersey)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ocean County Route 620, commonly referred to as Church Rd., is a frequently used through road for the residents of northern Toms River to get from points east, such as Silverton and Ocean County College, to points west, such as the Whitesville section of town. It is an east-west road extending 5.51 miles, beginning at Route 9 at the western end, and terminating at the intersection with Green Island Road on the eastern end in the Silverton section of Toms River. The road exists entirely within Toms River, but has two names. West of the intersection with Hooper Ave. (CR-549) the road is called Church Rd., with speed limits ranging from 40-45 mph. East of Hooper Ave. the road is called Kettle Creek Rd., with a speed limit of 35 mph.

The road goes under an overpass for the Garden State Parkway, but has no on or off ramp connecting it with the parkway. East of Hooper Ave. this road is a residential road, with houses lining up nearly every block of land. West of Hooper Ave. houses are still seen on the road, but become more distant, and with larger land in between them.
