Counts of San Paolino d'Aquilejo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Counts of San Paolino d'Aquilejo is a title of Maltese nobility.

The title was created in 1819 and originally bestowed upon Dr. Carlo Antonio Bonavita, JUD, by King Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies.

The title is limited to male descendants of the Vella-Bonavita and Bonavita descendants of the first Count. The direct line died out in 1975 with the sixth Count. Succession then passed to the sixth Count's sister's grandson as the present title holder, Charles Vella Bonavita, the seventh Count. The current heir is his cousin, Roger Vella Bonavita, styled the Contino.
