Counts di Santa Sofia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The title of Count di Santa Sofia was first used in Malta around 1776. The title is thought to be of French origin. Agostino Formosa de Fremaux, the first Count was a member of the original Freemasons of Malta.

Related to this family, though not to the counts themselves, it can be noted that a grandson of Count Generoso Formosa de Fremaux (2nd Count), Rev. Isidore Formosa de Fremaux has been nominated for Sainthood in Malta.
