Counselor to the President

The Counselor to the President is the highest-ranking assistant to the President of the United States for communications, and a member of the Executive Office of the President of the United States. In the administration of George W. Bush, the Counselor oversees the Communications, Media Affairs, Speechwriting, and Press Offices. The current Counselor is Dan Bartlett, who succeeded Karen Hughes in the position.
