The Council of the Shire of Esk is a Local Government Area in South East Queensland, Australia. The shire stretches from the Lockyer Valley north and west to the Great Dividing Range and up the valley of the Brisbane River.
As well as the administrative centre, Esk, towns in the shire include:
- Linville,
- Moore,
- Harlin,
- Toogoolawah,
- Coominya,
- Lowood,
- Fernvale,
- Glamorganvale, and
- Minden.
The shire contains Lake Wivenhoe, an artificial lake formed by the damming of the Brisbane River. The lake, as well as providing most of Brisbane's drinking water, acts to mitigate the effects of floods downstream.
