Cotignola is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Ravenna in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about 50 km southeast of Bologna and about 20 km west of Ravenna. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,952 and an area of 35.0 km2.[1]
The municipality of Cotignola contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Barbiano, San Severo, and Budrio.
Cotignola borders the following municipalities: Bagnacavallo, Bagnara di Romagna, Faenza, Lugo, Solarolo.
