[edit] Stolen units

Please refrain from adding various stolen units under the section of those who stole them. Those were built by the faction they were stolen from. The only exception are the first four units built by EA and stolen by ZAFT (Aegis, Bust, Duel and Blitz), because those four models were used as a base for all subsequent ZAFT Gundam-class mobile suit development (as also stated in the text). Even so, they are only present as a link, the descriptions still belong under the EA section. --IgorTrieste 15:18, 10 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Guidelines

I have completely restructured the page, merging all the mobile suits from the Destiny series, which were listed on a separate page. The old Destiny-only page is now a redirect.

I have also cleaned the text, so now it follows certain guidelines:

  • All the mobile suits have to be listed under the Faction/Nation that developed them, not who actually used them. So under the Clyne Faction (Archangel) there is only a listing of the suits, and their fate in the story, the actual entries and descriptions are under EA or under ZAFT sections. Similarly, the mobile suits ZAFT stole in the Gundam Seed first episodes go under the EA section, as the suits stolen in the Gundam Seed Destiny first episode go under the ZAFT section.
  • All mobile suits appear listed with their code first, then the name, which DOES NOT INCLUDE "GUNDAM"; for example, it's GAT-X105 Strike, not Strike Gundam, or GAT-X105 Strike Gundam or Strike Gundam (GAT-X105). There's no 'Gundam' in the actual mobile suit code names.
  • Additionaly, all over the text, I refrained from using the word Gundam, because it's a acronym for the mobile suits and it is almost never used in the actual series, very unlike other Gundam series.
  • I reduced the description of the mobile suits to a minimum: purpose, main innovations, pilot, eventually its fate. There are separate lenghty pages containing all the data, the weapons and the variations, and the codenames link to them.
  • I listed only the principal mobile suits, the variations go on the page of the mobile suit itself. Please refrain of adding unrelevant minor ms variations, add them instead to the specific model page.

Please adhere to these guidelines when editing/expanding, and by all means edit/expand the guidelines themselves if deemed opportune (but motivate please).

There is yet no page for the GFA-X1 Destroy, and I have not yet seen the episode where it appears. So the link is dead, please check it when such page is created.

Thank you

Some MS links seem to be recursive: UMF-5a GOOhN, UMF-5 ZnO and UMF/SSO-3 Ash to me link (redirect) to this same page. I don't know if there are the actual pages, nor how to cancel the redirect...

[edit] Update

I added the same coding system used on the characters' page, to specify in which series the individual units appeared. Just put a [GS] or [GSD] or [GSA] or a combination after the name, before the hyphen. I updated all the units, although I'm not sure of the correct codes for all of them, especially Astray and manga units, so please fill in where incomplete or wrong.--IgorTrieste 09:21, 23 May 2005 (UTC)

And the MSV? They will not be indiccated? It could be an extra tag, like: [GS\MSV] or [GSD\MSV]. Or it will be excesive? What do you think? Washington Irving 02:29, 27 May 2005 (UTC)

  • MSV units are so prevalent in the Astray stories that the two are almost interchangable. 68.47.175.214 03:31, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Why Skygrasper include here, since it is a fighter? It also funny to put BuCUE and LaGOWE in Mobile armors category when their description said they're MS. L-Zwei 14:09, 18 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • He's right. The BuCUE and LaGOWE would by traditional definitions be mobile armours, due to their non-humanoid designs. But they're officially called mobile suits, so that's what they should be listed as. Redxiv 17:07, 31 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GELGOOG

The GELGOOG really does exist (though we don't what its exact capitalization scheme will be). It shows up at the end of the latest Destiny Astray chapter. We'll probably get more info on in next chapter. http://www.zeonic-republic.net/1135252237197.jpg 68.47.234.131 01:12, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

What Faction does this MS come from? - Plau
We don't know yet. Like I said, the next chapter should tell us more, like the model number, who built it, the pilot's name, etc. It (or at least the pilot) seems to have come from Mars or beyond, because he acts like he's never seen Earth before. 68.47.234.131 05:40, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Some new information is in, and it turned out to actually be the MBF-P02 Gundam Astray Red Frame with a bunch of external armor and a couple of large binders added. I guess the pilot's reaction to being on Earth was just because Lowe had been away from his home planet for 2 years. 68.47.234.131 01:10, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] GUNDAM

""Gundam" is never used in the series to officially identify any mobile suit..." This line is not entirely true... while the mobile suits are never specifically reffered to as Gundams, Cagalli and Athrun, in response to the theft of Chaos, Gaia, and Abyss, utter the line "That's a Gundam!" --208.104.166.30 15:47, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Recent Deletions

Recent deletions to multiple Gundam pages in the Cosmic Era continuity have left an enormous gap devoid of information these pages should b restored and soon. Ireccomend looking at the deleted pages and aplying the necesary format changes w/out changing much of the already placed information, no matter what its natue. I agree to this. There are much too many error javascript texts, the text in bold red, and also, many important units were deleted. Who's idea was it to delete around half of the mecha profiles for Gundam Seed? It was foolish.

Is there any way to restore these articles. A majority of the mobile suit articles have been erased.

I'm not sure, but until the articles are restored, here's a good site for most of the mobile suits of Gundam Seed/Destiny/Astray/etc: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/gundam/index.htm
