Costa Rica, Sinaloa
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Cost Rica is the name of a small town located about 30 minutes (by car) south of Culicán, Sinaloa, Mexico.
In its beginnings Costa Rica was a small peasant town created due to the existence of the sugar cane processing plant that was there. In the 1960's, there were just about 15000 people in town but it was thriving in commerce and traditional values. Its people used to be very polite. There were 3 movie teatres and plenty of restaurantes, the cane-sugar industry was very prosperous. Then it came the closing of the plant due to very bad government management and the town got the shaft when they decided to close and thousands became unemployed and many went into drug traffiquing and other unlawful ways of living. The famous places where known as the farmacia del capi, el restaurante lety, la neveria de juvencio, el mercado nuevo and la ferreteria gutierrez among others. Now, most employment is in stores and services but people are strugling to make ends meet. As the rest of Mexico, Costa Rica Sinaloa's condition is a result of bad politics and no will on state capital's Culican to distribute funds and help the industry and the school system to improve standars so quality of life and the average income increases. Hopefully, Mr. Manuel Andres Lopez Obrador can made those changes once he gets the presidency and the fraud is admitted by all and he is recogniced by all countries. Mexico needs a desperated change.
