Talk:Corian

[edit] Edit removal

I have removed the following paragraph:

Corian, similarly to many solid surfacing materials, can be scratched or damaged by chemicals, and is not heat resistant, so it can be melted by hot pots and pans. Corian is more expensive than laminate and butcher block countertops and significantly more expensive than tile, but is less expensive than high quality granite.

First, their are very few household chemicals that will damage solid surface, Acetone being one of them. Second, Corian IS heat resistant, however not heat proof. Third, it's physically impossible to melt solid surface (it turns to a gas at high temperatures). Last, price depends on region, so check with your local fabricator for price. -HalcyonStrings
